In these great shots of cover model Tiffany I used my go-to set up for a clean white backdrop look. In many of my setups for this look I have been able to use a ring light or a beauty dish as my main lights. It really is your pick of what front lights you would like to use on your subject for this look. Make sure that the light meter is set for the front light exposure (when you check your lighting) so that the back lights are 1-½ stops brighter on the white seamless that way you get a nice clean white.
For my front lights I use two soft boxes’ one on the left and one on the right, one is my main light and one to be my fill light. If you find that the cross light is making a shadow on the face (Each side of the nose) ad a center light to the face, I normally use a beauty dish on a boom just above my head pointed at the models face to assist in getting the shadow’s off the face. That’s why they call it a beauty dish!
Once you have your lights set up the next thing is to find some great poses for the model when she is sitting on the floor and that your model will able to move about slowly to give you some great looks without the issue of showing any nudity. When working with semi nudity I advise you to put your camera down (If not on a tripod) and work with the model on poses, It will make for a more relaxed shoot if the model knows that you are not taking images at the part of the session.
When you have some ides ready pick up the camera and start shooting, you will find that your model will be much more relaxed and feel comfortable in front of you and the camera. I had worked with Tiffany many times before as we had shot a lot of sexy shots for magazines and catalogs together so Tiffany did not have any issue’s with being nude in front of me. One of the other things I feel is important that can make or break a shot is the have great hair and makeup, for theses shot we had Tiffany’s hair into ringlets.
